1. PLATFORM PURPOSE
GoJob (gojob.co.tz) is an online job board connecting employers and job seekers in Tanzania. GoJob operates as a data controller under the Personal Data Protection Act No. 11 of 2022 (PDPA), EPOCA 2010, and the Electronic Transactions Act 2015. GoJob is not an employment agency and does not guarantee employment.
2. ELIGIBILITY — 18 YEARS MINIMUM
You must be at least 18 years old to use GoJob. By registering you confirm you are 18 or older. Accounts found to belong to minors will be immediately deleted.
3. DATA COLLECTION — PDPA 2022
GoJob is registered with the PDPC as a data controller. We collect: name, phone, email, location, education, profession, experience, salary, and CV files — used only for recruitment purposes. All data is stored on Tanzania servers. No data is sold or transferred outside Tanzania without consent.
Retention: Active account data kept while account is active. Job seeker profiles inactive for 60+ days are removed. Request deletion anytime.
4. YOUR DATA RIGHTS — PDPA S.5
• Right to be informed — what data we collect and why
• Right to access — request a copy of your data
• Right to rectify — correct inaccurate data
• Right to delete — request full account deletion
• Right to object — object to processing causing adverse impact
• No automated decisions — no automated decisions without human review
Contact GoJob to exercise any right. Response within 30 days as required by law.
5. JOB SEEKERS — YOUR SAFETY
• NEVER pay money to any employer to get a job — this is fraud and illegal
• Do not share sensitive documents (ID, passport, bank details) before a verified interview
• Meet employers in safe, public locations
• If an offer requires upfront payment — it is a scam. Report it immediately
• Your CV is visible only to signed-in employers
• You have the right to work free from discrimination under the Employment and Labour Relations Act 2004
6. EMPLOYERS — YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Post genuine, legal vacancies only
• Comply with the Employment and Labour Relations Act 2004 and OSHA 2003
• Never charge candidates fees at any recruitment stage (illegal under Tanzanian law)
• No discrimination: gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, pregnancy, HIV/AIDS status
• Candidate data may only be used for the specific vacancy posted — any other use violates PDPA
• GoJob may remove posts and suspend accounts that violate these terms without notice
7. PROHIBITED — ZERO TOLERANCE
Strictly forbidden (account suspended + reported to authorities):
• Fraudulent or scam job advertisements
• Human trafficking or forced labour recruitment
• Using candidate data for any purpose other than recruitment
• Harassment, threats, discrimination, or abuse
• Multiple accounts to bypass restrictions
• Impersonating a person or company
• Hacking, disrupting or interfering with the platform
8. ACCOUNT SECURITY
• Keep your password confidential — GoJob staff will NEVER ask for it
• Use a strong password (min 8 characters)
• Log out on shared devices
• Report unauthorised access immediately
• Data breach notification within 72 hours as required by PDPA
9. COOKIES — EPOCA 2010
GoJob uses essential session cookies only to maintain your login. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You may clear cookies through your browser settings at any time.
10. LIABILITY
GoJob facilitates connections between employers and job seekers. We do not verify every post. GoJob is not liable for employer misconduct, fraud, or misrepresentation by any user. Users engage at their own risk and are advised to verify information independently.
11. GOVERNING LAW & DISPUTES
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Disputes submitted to courts in Morogoro Region. Data protection complaints: PDPC — www.pdpc.go.tz. Online content complaints: TCRA — www.tcra.go.tz.
